There are so many views around social media best practices that it can be hard to sift through the mess. How do you know that what you are doing in your social media is up to industry standards?

Too few business owners are using social media to build lasting and profitable relationships with their current subscribers. Use your emailing list to invite people to join your social platforms and give them first or exclusive access to your social media promotions.
3. Identify Your Outcomes
This is my all-time favourite tip ever. It’s something I tell clients all the time, and I maintain it is one of the most important things you should do in social media.
IDENTIFY YOUR GOALS. What are you trying to achieve? What are your desired outcomes? Different goals require different approaches. Don’t get caught in the trap of just putting yourself on every social platform because you feel like you should.
4. Become the Wikipedia of Your Industry
This is a valuable tip that will help to change your mind-set around social media. Becoming the Wikipedia of your industry simply means re-evaluating what kind of content you are offering to your followers. Information is easily available online, but we are impatient.
Being a valuable resource of concise information about your industry is marketable. Simply put, if you become the go-to for information, people will keep coming back for more.
5. Ask Your Audience Anything
Another mind-set changer. We place so much value around content, that sometimes we forget the social aspect of social media. So getting back to basics, ask your audience something. Ask anything! When you ask your audience something you give them permission to speak.
What does this do? It creates your social environment – getting people to engage and get involved!
